Update Freezer puts several updaters on ice – it can disable the updaters for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader, Apple, Adobe Flash, Firefox, Google, Java, Skype, and the Windows operating system itself. You can disable all these updaters at once, or you can pick and choose which one you want to disable.

To get started with Update Freezer, you need to download a small executable (it’s less than 3MB in size to be more precise) and run it. After you do so, you will be asked if you want a desktop shortcut and you will then be presented with the application’s interface.

There’s nothing complicated about Update Freezer interface. To the left you have a list with all the updaters the application supports: Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Apple, Adobe Flash, Firefox, Google, Java Skype, and Windows. To the right you have a Status pane that tells you if an application is set to update itself or if the update function is disabled. And in the upper right hand corner, you have buttons to Disable All updaters, Restore All updaters to their original status, and Close the application.

It is incredibly easy to use Update Freezer. If you want to disable all updaters at once, just hit the Disable All button from the upper right hand corner. If you want to undo this, click the Restore All button. And if you want to disable just one updater, do so from the Status pane. If you want to disable the updater for Adobe Acrobat & Reader alone, hit the Disabled button from the Status pane.

Update Freezer is freeware. You can use the application for as long as you want and not part with your money.

Update Freezer makes it so that, just with a simple mouse click, you can disable the updaters for several applications (including the Windows OS).

Pros

It’s incredibly easy to get Update Freezer up and running. Disable all updaters with a mouse click or disable updaters individually. Update Freezer is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
